Lyrics

From Land to Land

What will happen when I go

Will the castle still remain

What will happen when I don’t see you

Will the stories go away?

Will the warm thoughts still surround you with the same love

And can you show them the way

They are what has connected us

Our imagination of a better place

From land to land

And from the sea to the stars

Those dreams take us to a better place

When the world pushes down on my soul

Our imagination washes those problems away

I don’t want our world, away from my world

To leave, with only a grain of sand as a memory

So if I’m on a land, across the sea

The stars will bring us home

Somehow I’ve grown fonder

Of playing out stories in my mind

Of crossing bridges, and making new friends

The ones I can’t seem to find

These friends don’t care what I say

An apology fixes every time

I can’t lose the time to dream

I fear the real world will take that from me

From land to land

And from the sea to the stars

Those dreams take us to a better place

When the world pushes down on my soul

Our imagination washes those problems away

I don’t want our world, away from my world

To leave, with only a grain of sand as a memory

So if I’m on a land, across the sea

The stars will bring us home

My troubles won’t leave me

So I must carry on

When I climb up the mountain

Will I lose the imagination and love I have now?

Sometimes I wish I could just stop time

Keep living the dreams that are in my mind

Though in my heart I know, when I reach the sky

They’ll all be by my side

From land to land

And from the sea to the stars

Those dreams take us to a better place

When the world pushes down on my soul

Our imagination washes those problems away

I don’t want our world, away from my world

To leave, with only a grain of sand as a memory

So if I’m on a land, across the sea

The stars will bring us home

Someone You Can Love

I saw you fall

on something

but you picked yourself right up

You kept on walking

You put on a smile

And you seemed alright to me

But you kept on tripping

Beneath the sinking sun

And I felt like something was wrong

Then you were gone

You were out of sight

And the sun was below the horizon

Let me be someone that you can talk to

Let me be a guiding hand when I can

I always will be your old annoying friend

So let me be someone that you can love

I’ve heard the thoughts

As to where you might have gone

But I don’t know what to think

It’s hard for me

To see you sunken

Down into the ground

I know

You are in

There, somewhere

And I know

You will leave that place

I could never doubt you

Let me be someone that you can talk to

Let me be a guiding hand when I can

I’ll always be your old annoying friend

So let me be someone that you can love

You don’t have to be

Something spectacular

Cause at the end of the day

No one is

You don’t have to be

Some different around me yeah

So let me be someone that you can love

Let me be someone that you can talk to

Let me be a guiding hand when I can

I’ll always be your old annoying friend

So let me be someone that you can love

Change

Something has changed

In the way the earth takes its daily run

Devastated I used to be

For when they stole my voice

Something has changed

Feels like ash instead of flame

New growth I see in the distance

But the fear of fire still remains

The winds, the rain they washed away

All that I had

A beginning is here, I can see that clear

When the clouds leave the sky

You seem so shy

So different than I remember

But would I replace any of it?

I don’t know

Took me by surprise

The way you seemed to glance at me

Promises have been broken

And maybe I am broken

But it took me by surprise

How timid you were towards me

If I matter to someone

Then maybe I matter

The winds, the rain they washed away

All that I had

A beginning is here, I can see that clear

When the clouds leave the sky

You seem so shy

So different than I remember

But would I replace any of it?

I don’t know

Think this could be new

Is this the new daze?

The road seemed to have no end

Am I now at the end?

I’m ready to stand tall with the change

Are you the change I’ve been wishing for?

You’ve helped me up the mountain

And are you the one to welcome me home?

The winds and the rain they brought to me

A beginning, with a clear sky

You seem so shy, so beautiful

And I won’t replace

The winds and the rain they brought to me

A beginning, with a clear sky

You seem so shy so beautiful

And I won’t replace

The Breeze

A long time ago but not long enough ago

Was the first time your small eyes met mine

I introduced you to my old man

He took a liking to you and you called him a friend

Not long after that he hobbled cross the rainbow bridge

Other than his departure you’ve never really been sentimental

And maybe that means I shouldn’t be sentimental

But when you left, I couldn’t help thinking…

The world might leave me in the rain

I might throw my dreams down the drain

You might be gone, but you’ll sit beside me in my heart

And the breeze will never blow you away

When I slouched into the house you were always there

And I counted on you being around

I remember you getting stuck on the roof and resting in the sun

But what pains me most is what I never paid attention to

There’s an empty spot

In every corner, every chair, every room, everywhere

I didn’t understand how vital your peaceful presence was

And when you left, I couldn’t help thinking…

The world might leave me in the rain

I might throw my dreams down the drain

You might be gone, but you’ll sit beside me in my heart

And the breeze will never blow you away

Someday soon

It will settle in

For where you’ve gone

Is only my sadness

I’ll listen to you in the breezes

Takes me where it pleases

You’re with me more than ever

Makes me remember…

The world might leave me in the rain

I might throw my dreams down the drain

You might be gone, but you’ll sit beside me in my heart

And the breeze will never blow you away

Waves of the World

There is some simplicity in the sound

Of the music

Probably found it when I met you

It was long before we could know

Anything about the world

Or how to sing for all the noise

Back in those days, we were all shielded

From the evil of the waters

But now we all have to survive

You could be someone who I could

Ponder the problems with

And make them feel a bit simpler

Could you be

A soul that I could trust?

Would you be

Help through the waves of the world?

Used to be

So easy when I wrote this music

When I write the words to this song

I’m giving my heart along

There used to be a time when we’d talk

For hours on end

About the music that I love

Why has all that time

Been washed away?

Goner than gone the fish might say

If I were to find a new river

Sit and listen to the waves

I fear that life wouldn’t be the same

There seems to be no way to get the

Fish or flow back

I think I must sail on my own now

Used to be

A soul that I could trust

Used to be

Help through the waves of the world

Used to ride

The tide when I wrote this music

When I write the words to this song

I wanted to give my heart along

I still hope you’ll come back to me

So I can find my place, here or there

I want the old friend that I knew

Who’d run right at the brush

I still think you could be with me

Soaring over when the ocean floods

I hope someone will journey with me again

So I won’t be alone in the waves of the world
